Hawaii "Justified and Stripped" LP / CD / DVD Bundle

$125.00
Limit 1 per order

On January 14, 1973, the King took the stage at the Honolulu International Center for the landmark “Aloha from Hawaii” satellite broadcast. Seen by audiences around the world, the concert represented the height of the King’s international visibility, presenting him at the center of one of the most ambitious live television events of its time.

For “Justified and Stripped”, the broadcast has been deconstructed and rebuilt to place the King and the TCB Band at the heart of the performance. The change in perspective is particularly striking on a performance so closely associated with its visual presentation.

This limited edition release is presented as a 12-inch stereo lathe-cut vinyl record, complete with printed labels, jacket, dust cover, and protective cellophane wrapping. Each record is handmade and cut individually in real time. These are bespoke lathe-cut records, not mass-produced pressed vinyl, giving every copy the character of a carefully produced, individually made release.

This record has been mastered specifically for the lathe-cut format. While the finished records are designed to look and feel comparable to quality retail vinyl, the cutting process is different from conventional pressing. Lathe-cut grooves can be shallower than those found on pressed records, which may result in a somewhat higher noise floor and more restricted playback volume.

Some turntables may require minor adjustments to tracking weight or anti-skate settings to achieve the smoothest playback. These are inherent characteristics of the format rather than defects, and are part of what makes each SRB Records lathe-cut a genuinely individual physical release.

Includes CDs of both the rehearsal and main concerts, plus a special DVD presentation of the full concert paired with “Justified and Stripped” audio.

Customer Reviews

“Elvis Aloha from Hawaii definitely needs no introduction as it’s been a live performance staple in all of our Elvis library live shows. What I would love to start out by saying is, with the SRB label, when you know what it stands for, we have a heavy dose of rhythm & blues that really drives the rhythm for the first time on the signature track Steam Roller Blues! Wink wink - Listen to the beginning as the rhythm guitar rolls the blues as it was meant to be recorded! The tracks all set each other apart as I really loved Elvis’s vocals on the stand out tracks Love Me and I Can’t Stop Loving You. For the first time you can really hear Jim Burton wind up his Wah pedal on this Hound Dog track! Which sounds more psychedelic than anything you would normally relate to an Elvis recording! Flip to side B with the patriotic anthem American Trilogy which is always powerful & wonderfully crafted! Perfect paired harmonies with JD & his counterparts as no one else can! To hear this track stand all alone without the orchestra is really cool and impressive not feeling like it’s missing a thing as you hear every bass note laid down perfectly! Along with I Remember You - classic! Elvis’s vocals are beautifully done! I can appreciate the quality of this record lathe cut. It tracks very well and I have yet to have any issues or playability with all 3 SRB lathe cut releases on my Audio - Technica & Klipsch towers & 12” woofer paired with the Klipsch shelf speakers x2x2x2!!! Sound is top notch! Buy with confidence this perfect package comes with a limited DVD release as well! Just like the vinyl reengineered by the SRB team you’ve come to love! Just ask my turntable! Again! & Again! ” - Matt H.
